Transition to Algebra: A Habits of Mind Approach

Transition to Algebra (TTA) is an algebra support curriculum that provides a full year of student and teacher materials to help all students enjoy and succeed in introductory algebra. TTA cultivates mathematical habits of mind using puzzles and broadly applicable tools and models to establish and clarify the foundations of algebra. Students engage in daily oral mental mathematics exercises, read aloud scripts that model productive mathematical discourse, solve problems collaboratively, and conduct hands-on explorations that elucidate mathematical patterns, practices, and concepts. This video highlights several features of the curriculum.
