NABI Mission: A nationwide network of individuals and organizations working together to build institutional capacity, advance BI, and
demonstrate the societal benefits of research.

NABI members support projects that emphasize the nine suggested areas of broader impacts, found in the NSF GPG. As a result, the researchers, research support staff, programming specialists, evaluators and others that comprise our membership have wide-ranging audiences depending on the nature of the broader impacts projects they work on—from early childhood education experiences, to lifelong learning opportunities. We have made a substantial part of our objective as a community to place emphasis on broadening participation both within broader impacts activities and within the NABI community itself. NABI has partnered with minority serving institutions, HBCUs, and other organizations that support broader participation in the sciences.

This year, the focus of the 2016 Broader Impacts Summit is broadening participation. The 2016 Summit was held at the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia, PA April 20-22nd.
