This video, 'Diversity Improves Design: Interdisciplinary STEM Training to Advance Sustainability,' showcases applied anthropologists and environmental engineers working together to train STEM graduate students to work with underserved communities to design context-sensitive technologies for WaSH (water, sanitation, hygiene) infrastructure. The research and training took place from 2013-2019 and was funded by NSF's PIRE (Partnerships for International Research and Education) program, with the greater goal of discovering innovative new ways to reclaim water, nutrients, and energy from wastewater.
