The Smoky Mountains STEM Collaborative has worked with NASA Science Mission Directorate to bring STEM resources into rural western North Carolina.  Kites have proven to be a fun and engaging tool for all levels of students.  With kites students discover the mechanics of flight, the principles of aerodynamic design, and even explore methods of remote sensing.
