Teaching and Learning Algebraic Thinking Across the Middle Grades: A Research...

NSF Awards: 1503510

2019 (see original presentation & discussion)

Grades K-6, Grades 6-8, Grades 9-12

The PhET project has created over 150 fun, free, interactive, research-based simulations for learning science. Through a deep partnership with math education researchers, we have been designing, building, and studying a new suite of interactive simulations for learning mathematics. Math educators are using these new simulations to enrich the classroom, with students engaged in exploring, discovering, and discussing key math ideas. Here we highlight research examining how classroom norms change when a simulation is used in mathematics instruction.

All PhET simulations are FREE! Visit https://phet.colorado.edu.
