Grades K-6

The BioSim project is a suite of participatory simulation tools to enhance elementary school science. Located at Indiana University, our designs aim to move beyond elementary science activities that consist of observation to science activities that engage children’s imagination and invite them into inquiry as a meaningful, relevant practice. Through the embodied play in the use of computer simulations, role-playing with electronic puppets, and rich discussions, BioSim shows how even very young children can learn complex systems thinking and science.
