The GLOBE Program Annual Meeting- Student Field Experience

NSF Awards: 1623979

2018 (see original presentation & discussion)

Grades 6-8, Grades 9-12

This video was filmed at the GLOBE Student Field Experience in Rocky Mountain National Park during the 2016 GLOBE Annual Meeting.

GLOBE students have become an essential part of GLOBE Annual Meetings. Students present their research projects through the Student Research Exhibition. Their research is often impressive and their enthusiasm is always contagious. GLOBE teachers, partners, scientists and sponsors attending the Annual Meeting are reminded of why they do the work they do to support The GLOBE Program.

Students also take part in a Student Field Experience. This film captures the two day student immersion into the outdoors that took place at Rocky Mountain National Part in Estes Park, Colorado. Twenty-three students from seven countries learned about the environment side by side, taking environmental measurements (a core aspect of the GLOBE learning experience), forming new friendships and finding out that they have more similarities than differences.

In July 2018, 200 students from 40 countries will take part in the GLOBE Learning Expedition in Killarney, Ireland.
